If you have ever wondered what it would be like to be a part of a Japanese family for at least a short period of time, then consider a homestay in Kibichuo Town. The organizers have put together a program that brings visitors from overseas together with town local, most of whom live in traditional Japanese farmhouses.

The home-stay families are locals with a deep love for Kibichuo Town and want to share their personal slice of it with people from around the world. Guests can stay for up to two weeks in homes that seem to have been ripped from the past, traditional facades that blend seamlessly into the agricultural world around them.

You might find yourself living among, farmers, craftspeople, carpenters,shopkeepers or people from every walk of life that you could possibly imagine.They will warmly welcome you into their homes, offering hospitality in the true meaning of the word.

A home-stay in Kibichuo town gives you access  to abundant nature and a rural landscape that inspires a sense of nostalgia don’t matter what country you are originally from. Kibichuo Town offers a mix of old world agriculture and an enduring  set of cultural practices that will truly inspire you.

Get up bright and early with the members of your host family and help them with the chores. Go out into the fields, and feel what it’s like to work the land.  Experience a trade. For instance, try your hand at carpentry and woodworking.

The host families in the program are extremely accommodating and will make you feel right at home. You will quickly learn what it’s like to live in Kibichuo Town on a regular basis. You’ll learn the best places to go for  a great photograph, a delicious meal or memorable experience. See how Japanese culture works on a daily basis at the individual level.


About the Area

Kibichuo Town is a located within the Chugoku Mountains and is comprised of fertile highland farmland and expansive forests. Its natural scenic beauty has long attracted the attention of visitors from around the country and in recent years, international travelers have followed suit. Easily accessible from both Okayama Station and Okayama Airport, Kibichuo Town is the perfect getaway.


Cancellation Policy

1) Detailed tour information & conditions will be given after application is made; please read and confirm the final itinerary before the departure date.
2) Reservations: Fill out the application contact form; application is complete upon payment. Reservations accepted by phone, mail, fax, online, or other communicative methods. The contract is not valid at time of reservation; the customer will be asked to submit an application form and payment within 3 days from time of reservation. If application form and payment are not submitted within the term, the reservation shall be considered void.
3) Items not included in tour price: Transportation costs not included in itinerary, optional tour fees, excess baggage fees, any fees of a personal nature (phone bills, meal costs, etc.) Items excluded from the tour will be stated in the tour information.
4) Cancellation fees: When the application is cancelled by the customer or when payment has not been made by the specified date, Ryobi Tours shall receive a percentage of the per person tour fee as a cancellation fee, or a penalty fee. Differences in room charges that result from one person in a group cancelling shall be charged to the participating person(s).
