Bamboo was once used all over Japan to make a variety of everyday household items. However, with the availability of so many different materials it has fallen out of fashion to a large extent.

As part of an effort to revive interest in bamboo and help control the forests, the people of Nanbu Town have put together a workshop that teaches the fundamentals of lamp-making using this beautiful wood.

Create your own design, bring it to life and let the light shine through.
