There have been scores of movies where gardens have played a major role. The English garden at Miyama like a garden within a garden as it is located adjacent to the larger Miyama Garden.This space with a separate entrance and a nominal admission fee is a meticulously crafted work produced by licensed professional English garden specialist from the UK. Notable, for the aroma produced by its herbs, the garden is an absolute delight to the senses.

Shaped like a feather and divided into eight distinct sections, the English garden consists of the Summer Flower Garden, the White Garden, the Hot Color Garden, the Green Garden, the Water Garden, the Rose Garden, the Statue Corridor and the Great White Cherry Garden.

A few of the many lovely sections of the English garden include the extensive trellis and the corridor of statues that are lined up along a runway of lush green grass.There is a reflective pool that reminds you of something out of ancient Rome.

It is easy to spend hours strolling through the well-manicured sections of Miyama English Garden. Since the garden hosts a variety of activities throughout the year, including workshops and events, it is worthwhile to plan ahead to make the most of a visit.

After visiting the English garden be sure to visit the greater Miyama Garden and take time out for a picnic lunch. You can see kids rollerblading or riding their bicycles along the paths and open spaces.

People actually bring bikes and skates to Miyama because it is one of the few places in the area where you can spread out a bit. It is actually not uncommon to see a dozen families enjoying the greater park at any given time.

Some of the events held at Miyama English garden include two photo contests which are followed by two exhibitions of selected works. Registration is required for submission.

The garden also hosts pumpkin basket making classes in the spring as well as wreath making workshops in th December. There are also guided tours available that accommodate up to thirty people.

About the Area

Tamano an independent municipality located on the coast of the Seto Inland Sea in southern Okayama Prefecture. The city has a distinct and unmistakable maritime feel to it that reaches the senses through the fresh sea air that flows through its streets.

The city has become an important art appreciation destination and portal to the art inspired islands of the Seto Inland Sea.

There are several installations near Uno Station and Uno Port that were conceived of and created by internationally recognized artists.

After arriving at the station (which is a work of art in itself), take a close look at the whole port area.

Access: Take the Uno Line from Okayama Station to Bizen Tai Station. The garden is about a 24 minute walk from Bizen Tai Station.

Cancellation Policy

1) Detailed tour information & conditions will be given after application is made; please read and confirm the final itinerary before the departure date.
2) Reservations: Fill out the application contact form; application is complete upon payment. Reservations accepted by phone, mail, fax, online, or other communicative methods. The contract is not valid at time of reservation; the customer will be asked to submit an application form and payment within 3 days from time of reservation. If application form and payment are not submitted within the term, the reservation shall be considered void.
3) Items not included in tour price: Transportation costs not included in itinerary, optional tour fees, excess baggage fees, any fees of a personal nature (phone bills, meal costs, etc.) Items excluded from the tour will be stated in the tour information.
4) Cancellation fees: When the application is cancelled by the customer or when payment has not been made by the specified date, Ryobi Tours shall receive a percentage of the per person tour fee as a cancellation fee, or a penalty fee. Differences in room charges that result from one person in a group cancelling shall be charged to the participating person(s).
