Takahashi City has a gem of an eatery called Cafe de Beniwo that is located just a few minutes walk from JR Bitchu Takahashi Station.
The cafe’s name refers to the union between man and woman and its concept is to reflect the mood of Taisho era Japan through music and decor, while at the same time blending the past with the present.
The lunch menu consists of wonderfully prepared and presented curry, pizza,or pasta with soup, salad, drink, and dessert available as a part of a set menu.
The interior is full of comfortable colors, from the deep brown wood found throughout to the greens and blues of the blown glass placed elegantly on many of cafe’s tables and stands.
Enjoy a cup of coffee or some delicious Takahashi tea and let the sounds of jazz and blues help you to relax
Don’t forget that you are in the center of the city so take the opportunity to explore the surrounding area. Visit the newly-built library which features a bookstore and a Starbucks cafe. Walk the entire length of the shopping arcade and get the nostalgic feel of old Japan.
You can easily make your way to the central sights and even continue over to Bitchu Matsuyama Castle if you are up for a bit of a trek.
