Kibichuo Town is known for its natural environment, which stretches over a vast landscape that includes many of the mountains and valleys of the Chugoku Mountain Range. The sheer size of the town can be overwhelming but there are alternative ways to appreciate its beauty without having to travel great distances.

Open April through November, Kibi-no-mori is a compact botanical garden is set in the midst of a mountaintop forest and offers a sweeping panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. In fact, on a clear day you can see all the way to Mt Daisen across Okayama’s northern border in Tottori Prefecture.

The Kibi-no-mori features around 300 varieties of flowers, including roughly 100 rose varieties as well as  lotus flowers that rest peacefully on the still water of the garden pond.

The environment is perfect for relaxation and for a bit of physical activity as there are open spaces where you can move you body and children can run around. Take part in an arts and crafts lesson conducted by a knowledgeable locals.

There is also plenty to do nearby. Enjoy the nearby horseback riding facility and a terrific hot spring that is located in this idyllic highland setting. Visit the heart of Kibi Plaza at the heart of Kibi Chuo Town to put your finger on the pulse of the region. Have a meal at one of its excellent restaurants or eateries.

Enquire about accommodation at the resort hotel in Kibi Plaza if you are interested in staying the night. If you plan far enough ahead, you might consider doing a farmstay in order to enjoy the full experience of being in Kibichuo Town.

About the Area

Kibichuo Town is a located within the Chugoku Mountains and is comprised of fertile highland farmland and expansive forests. Its natural scenic beauty has long attracted the attention of visitors from around the country and in recent years, international travelers have followed suit. Easily accessible from both Okayama Station and Okayama Airport, Kibichuo Town is the perfect getaway.

Access: Take the Tsuyama Line from JR Okayama Station to JR Fukuwatari Station. Take a 25 minute taxi ride from JR Fukuwatari Station to Kibi-no-Mori Botanical Garden.

Cancellation Policy

1) Detailed tour information & conditions will be given after application is made; please read and confirm the final itinerary before the departure date.
2) Reservations: Fill out the application contact form; application is complete upon payment. Reservations accepted by phone, mail, fax, online, or other communicative methods. The contract is not valid at time of reservation; the customer will be asked to submit an application form and payment within 3 days from time of reservation. If application form and payment are not submitted within the term, the reservation shall be considered void.
3) Items not included in tour price: Transportation costs not included in itinerary, optional tour fees, excess baggage fees, any fees of a personal nature (phone bills, meal costs, etc.) Items excluded from the tour will be stated in the tour information.
4) Cancellation fees: When the application is cancelled by the customer or when payment has not been made by the specified date, Ryobi Tours shall receive a percentage of the per person tour fee as a cancellation fee, or a penalty fee. Differences in room charges that result from one person in a group cancelling shall be charged to the participating person(s).
