Kibichuo is one of those towns in Japan that people who live in big cities love to visit, with some choosing to buy a second home or even relocate. They are attracted by the fresh air, natural environment, open spaces and a welcoming hometown atmosphere.

Kibichuo Town is only a thirty-minute ride from Okayama International Airport, and in some cases, people actually fly in from a variety of locales and make their way to the highland paradise.

One of the nicest things that Kibichuo Town has going for it is the almost total absence of light pollution. When night falls, thousands of star clusters are visible with the naked eye so just imagine what you could see with a telescope.

Stargazers will truly appreciate a special experience that is available in Kibichou Town. You can actually rent a small house with its own full-sized observatory. Astro Cottage Galileo was conceived as a way to provide visitors with comfortable accommodation and a means with which to observe the night sky with the finest equipment. The cottage sleeps up to five and is a fully-furnished and very comfortable home away from home that sits upon a Kibichuo Town hilltop.

The computer-guided telescope can be operated with the assistance of a local technician to allow you access to stars in the darkest sections of the sky. There is also a portable telescope available as well if you want a little mobility.

Be an astronomer for the night and plan your own personal exploration of the cosmos. The mountaintop isolation of the Astro Cottage will put you even a scientific mood and who knows, you might even make a discovery!

If you are looking for something to do during the day, visit the nearby garden Kibi-no-Mori and the Okayama Horse Riding Club to add to your Kibichuo Town experiences.
