ABOUT Bee Farm Candle Making Workshop in Kagamino Town

Yamada Bee Farm in Kagamino Town in northern Okayama Prefecture is Japan’s number 1 provider of royal jelly, propolis, honey and honey-based food and drink products, as well as a variety of honey-based health and beauty products. Yamada Bee Farm offers several hands-on workshops and  educational programs, and this candle making workshop is one of the most popular.

Beeswax is produced inside of a bee’s body for the purpose of building a hive. It is a natural product that has moisturizing and antibacterial properties, and is used in a variety of products such a lip balm, wax, and crayons, to name a few. Because royal jelly and propolis draw attention and are well known for being good for health, beeswax is also gaining attention in Japan recently.

Compared with regular petroleum-based candles, beeswax candles burn completely and have a light honey fragrance, and are gentle on the environment.

Visitors can make a dipped candle and two original rolled beeswax candle from Yamada Bee Farm’s high quality beeswax.

Other information

Workshop participants will make one dipped candle, one small rolled candle, and one large rolled candle.

Price 1,030 JPY per person; available to small children and up. From 2+ persons.

Kagamino Town is a scenic town in northeastern Okayama Prefecture that is well known for its outstanding natural beauty. One of the most impressive aspects of the town is the number of natural hot springs to choose from.

The Fairywood Glass Museum is filled with exquisite works of hand blown glass. Glass sculpture and carefully crafted glassware are all on display and are sure peak your interest. There is also a well-appointed fine arts museum and a historical archive for art and history enthusiasts.

For the athletically minded there is a golf course, an athletic field and a playground all located in a picture perfect highland setting in the Okutsu district.

Cancellation Policy

1) Detailed tour information & conditions will be given after application is made; please read and confirm the final itinerary before the departure date.
2) Reservations: Fill out the application contact form; application is complete upon payment. Reservations accepted by phone, mail, fax, online, or other communicative methods. The contract is not valid at time of reservation; the customer will be asked to submit an application form and payment within 3 days from time of reservation. If application form and payment are not submitted within the term, the reservation shall be considered void.
3) Items not included in tour price: Transportation costs not included in itinerary, optional tour fees, excess baggage fees, any fees of a personal nature (phone bills, meal costs, etc.) Items excluded from the tour will be stated in the tour information.
4) Cancellation fees: When the application is cancelled by the customer or when payment has not been made by the specified date, Ryobi Tours shall receive a percentage of the per person tour fee as a cancellation fee, or a penalty fee. Differences in room charges that result from one person in a group cancelling shall be charged to the participating person(s).
